Summary By: eMotoX
Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.3 Neo, the latest iteration of its electric compact model, featuring a comprehensive redesign and upgraded technologies. The new model introduces a fresh exterior based on Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive” design language, characterised by a reimagined front end with a continuous light strip and illuminated logo. Inside, the ID.3 Neo boasts a high-quality, ergonomically designed cockpit with intuitive controls, a redesigned multifunction steering wheel, and a large digital infotainment system, elevating the driving experience to a class above.
Under the bonnet, the ID.3 Neo benefits from a newly developed high-efficiency drive system that delivers increased torque and improved energy consumption, enabling a maximum range of up to 630 km under WLTP standards. The model will be offered with three power outputs ranging from 125 kW to 170 kW and three battery options from 50 kWh to 79 kWh. Charging capabilities have also been enhanced, with the largest battery supporting DC fast charging at up to 183 kW, allowing for quicker turnaround times on long journeys.
Volkswagen has integrated advanced driver assistance and connectivity features into the ID.3 Neo, including the new Connected Travel Assist with automatic traffic light recognition and one-pedal driving functionality that maximises energy recuperation. The vehicle-to-load function allows the car’s high-voltage battery to power external devices up to 3.6 kW, adding versatility for outdoor and recreational use. Additional optional equipment ranges from an augmented reality head-up display to premium sound systems and comfort features, catering to a broad spectrum of customer preferences.
Martin Sander, Volkswagen’s Board Member responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales, emphasised the company’s commitment to delivering a “True Volkswagen” experience. He highlighted the model’s timeless design, technical reliability, and user-friendly operation as key factors that enhance everyday driving convenience. Pre-sales for the ID.3 Neo are set to begin imminently across Germany and several European markets, signalling Volkswagen’s continued push to strengthen its position in the competitive electric vehicle segment.
