VinFast Partners With 14 More Motorcycle Distributors, Aiming For A Major June Launch

Summary By: eMotoX
VinFast is accelerating its entry into the Philippine electric two-wheeler market with plans for a major launch scheduled for June 2026. The company has recently expanded its local distribution network by partnering with 14 additional motorcycle dealers, bringing the total to 19. This move facilitates a decentralised inventory system, ensuring that popular models like the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper are readily available in key urban centres such as Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. VinFast’s supply chain is supported by its manufacturing hub in Vietnam, which produced over 400,000 e-scooters in 2025, securing the volume needed for the Philippine rollout. A critical component of VinFast’s strategy is the development of a comprehensive energy infrastructure led by its affiliate V-Green. The company is prioritising battery swapping stations over conventional plug-in charging to better suit the fast-paced urban environment. With an ambitious target of 30,000 swapping stations nationwide, VinFast aims to outnumber traditional fuel stations by approximately 1.5 times. These modular, weather-resistant swap cabinets will be installed at dealerships, retail outlets, malls, and public hubs, supporting the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery technology used in their scooters. To encourage adoption, VinFast and its partner GSM (Green SM) have introduced incentives such as free battery swapping for driver-partners until March 2029, while private consumers will benefit from a competitive swap fee of around 20 pesos per charge—significantly cheaper than conventional fuel costs. Additionally, the launch of the Green SM Platform will integrate VinFast owners into a dedicated ride-hailing and delivery ecosystem, promoting high utilisation of the battery-swapping network. This digital platform not only supports vehicle registration but also helps sustain the rapid expansion of infrastructure by ensuring consistent demand. VinFast’s approach reflects a comprehensive effort to establish a sustainable and scalable electric mobility ecosystem in the Philippines. By combining a robust local distribution network with an extensive energy infrastructure and innovative digital integration, the company is positioning itself to lead large-scale electrification in Southeast Asia. The success of this launch could set a precedent for similar deployments in other markets, signalling a significant shift in urban mobility solutions.
