Up To 50% Off On A New Heat Pump Installation, Says Startup
Summary By: eMotoX
California’s heat pump market is witnessing increased competition as Jetson Home, a relatively new startup, announces its entry with a direct-to-consumer sales model aimed at reducing installation costs by up to 50%. The company highlights that its approach, which includes remote assessments and the use of existing ductwork, significantly lowers expenses compared to traditional methods. Jetson Home is leveraging local utility rebates in key Californian cities, where incentives can range from $1,500 to $5,000, making heat pump upgrades more affordable for homeowners transitioning from gas furnaces.
Jetson Home’s business model focuses primarily on replacing gas furnaces, where ductwork is already in place, thus maximising cost savings through reduced labour and installation complexity. The startup has already established a presence in several US states, including Colorado, Massachusetts, and New York, and has gained recognition for its innovative Jetson Air heat pump, which was named in Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2025 for its remote monitoring and air quality features. This vertical integration strategy aims to streamline the electrification process and enhance customer service through continuous system monitoring.
The company’s expansion plans for California are ambitious, supported by a recent $50 million Series A funding round led by Eclipse and other investors. Jetson Home anticipates creating hundreds of jobs across the state, spanning HVAC technicians, electricians, and management roles, in line with California’s goal of six million heat pump installations by 2030. The funding will also support Jetson’s broader vision to extend its platform to other states and accelerate residential electrification through technology-driven efficiencies.
Meanwhile, established players like Lennox are also making strides in the heat pump sector, particularly with cold climate models designed to operate reliably in temperatures as low as -20°F. Lennox’s David Lennox Signature Collection recently received the prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award, underscoring the growing importance of heat pumps capable of replacing fossil fuel heating in colder regions. This development reflects broader industry efforts, supported by government initiatives, to expand the viability of heat pumps across diverse climates and accelerate the transition away from gas heating.
