Petrol retailer lists its EV fast chargers on Chargefox app

Chargefox has partnered with Viva Energy to integrate Shell’s Recharge electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging sites into the Chargefox app, enhancing accessibility for EV drivers across Australia. Initially, four Shell Recharge locations will be added to the network, enabling users to access ultra-fast 350kW chargers via the app or RFID card without needing additional accounts. This collaboration aims to simplify the charging experience by consolidating multiple providers into a single platform. The sites included in this initial rollout are spread across New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, with locations such as Reddy Express Mt Annan and Viva Energy Hub Corio among them. Chargefox has indicated that this is just the beginning, with plans to bring more Shell Recharge sites online over the next year. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to increase the availability of high-powered chargers, particularly in regional and rural areas, thereby addressing range anxiety and improving convenience for EV users. By incorporating Shell Recharge chargers, Chargefox significantly broadens its network coverage, making it one of the largest EV charging platforms in Australia outside of Tesla’s proprietary system. This integration also follows recent additions of other major networks like bp pulse, EVX, and AGL, reflecting Chargefox’s commitment to unifying access to diverse charging infrastructure.
