Kia announces Australian pricing for its PV5 Cargo electric van, undercuts rivals

Kia has revealed the Australian pricing for its all-electric PV5 Cargo van, set to arrive in dealerships from late May at a starting price of $55,990. This positions the PV5 competitively against other electric vans available locally, including models from Farizon, Volkswagen, Ford, LDV, Renault, and Mercedes. The PV5 is notable for being the first electric vehicle in Australia built on Kia’s advanced E-GMP.S Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture, marking a significant step in the brand’s electric commercial vehicle offerings. The PV5 Cargo features a Long Range model equipped with a 71.2 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt battery, providing an estimated driving range of 416 kilometres under WLTP standards. While Kia has yet to release full specifications, the van has already undergone rigorous testing through the company’s Ride & Handling Program in Australia, which focuses on optimising performance for urban delivery routes and challenging rural roads.
