ITECH launches IT8100A/E DC electronic loads with 1.8 MW parallel capacity and 150 A/μs slew rate

Summary By: eMotoX
ITECH has introduced the IT8100A/E Series DC electronic loads, a versatile high-power testing solution designed to meet the demanding requirements of electric vehicle (EV) charging station validation, power battery testing, fuel cell evaluation, and AI power supply assessment. The system is scalable, allowing configurations from single units up to parallel arrays capable of delivering a combined capacity of 1.8 MW. With a power density of 7.2 kW per 3U rack unit, it can be expanded to 86.4 kW within a 37U cabinet, making it suitable for both benchtop and large-scale industrial applications. A standout feature of the IT8100A/E Series is its rapid dynamic response, boasting a slew rate of 150 A/μs. This capability enables the simulation of fast current transients typical in switching power supplies, charging systems, and fuel cells, providing more accurate and realistic testing conditions. The devices also offer a 1.5 times short-term over-power capacity to accommodate peak load scenarios without necessitating oversized test setups, enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency. The series includes a dedicated high-current variant capable of operating at 60 V and 2400 A with a power rating of 6 kW, specifically targeting next-generation AI GPU and computing power supply testing where high currents at low voltages are common. Covering four voltage levels—60 V, 150 V, 600 V, and 1200 V—the IT8100A/E Series supports testing for emerging 800 V EV charging architectures, which require higher DC link voltages than traditional 400 V systems. This broad voltage range ensures compatibility with a wide array of modern power electronics. ITECH offers three distinct product families within the series: the IT8100A, IT8100E, and the dedicated high-current load, all designed for flexible parallel operation. This modularity allows users to tailor their test platforms precisely, from small-scale laboratory setups to megawatt-class configurations, addressing the evolving needs of electric mobility and AI power electronics sectors. The IT8100A/E Series is currently available, positioning ITECH as a key player in advanced power testing solutions.
