Under the banner “In China, for China,” the group will unveil ten new models across four brands during its Media Night on April 21, including four world premieres. These launches highlight the company’s strategic focus on tailoring its product portfolio specifically to Chinese consumers, reflecting a rapid and targeted approach to electrification and smart mobility. Among the world premieres, the JETTA brand introduces its first electric show car aimed at entry-level buyers, signalling a push to broaden EV accessibility. Volkswagen will reveal the second ID. UNYX model, developed in partnership with Chinese EV manufacturer XPENG, alongside the first all-electric model in FAW-Volkswagen’s ID. AURA series, built on the locally developed China Electronic Architecture (CEA). Audi will debut the exterior design of the AUDI E7X, its second series production model designed to attract new customer segments, further emphasising the group’s dual-brand strategy in China. Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume emphasised the importance of China as a hub of innovation and a key driver of the company’s global competitiveness. He noted that the “In China, for China” strategy, launched three years ago, has allowed the group to act decisively and deliver products that meet local market demands. Ralf Brandstätter, head of Volkswagen Group China, highlighted the speed of development, with plans to launch a new vehicle every two weeks from 2026, marking the largest electric mobility offensive in the company’s history. Beyond vehicle launches, the group is also showcasing advanced AI-powered systems and high-performance driver-assistance technologies developed through its Chinese centre of excellence, CARIZON. These include Level 2 ADAS features such as Navigation on Autopilot in urban and highway settings and automated parking, underscoring Volkswagen’s focus on integrating intelligent digital solutions that enhance user experience. The upcoming Auto China event will also feature further highlights from Porsche and Audi, reinforcing the group’s comprehensive approach to electrification and future mobility in China.
