WORLD SUPERCROSS ANNOUNCES FIRST FIVE LOCATIONS OF 2026 SEASON CALENDAR

The FIM World Supercross Championship has unveiled the first five venues for its 2026 season, signalling the start of what promises to be the most expansive and internationally diverse calendar in the championship’s history. The season will kick off at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Canada, on 8 August, marking a fresh location for the series while maintaining its strong presence in North America. Following this, the championship will return to the United Kingdom for the first time since 2023, with the European round set for Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium, a city known for its deep motorsport roots and passionate dirt bike community. The championship will then head to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 24 October, revisiting a venue that has quickly become a fan favourite since its debut last year. The South American leg is expected to deliver another electrifying night of racing, supported by one of the sport’s most enthusiastic audiences. Later in the season, World Supercross will return to Australia’s Gold Coast, with the Cbus Super Stadium hosting the event on 21 November. This venue has consistently produced some of the most thrilling and competitive races, reflecting Australia’s strong dirt bike culture and commitment to high-intensity motorsport. The fifth confirmed round will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, following a successful inaugural event last season at DHL Stadium. This return underlines the championship’s dedication to expanding its footprint in Africa, a continent with growing interest in supercross racing. The organisers have yet to announce the sixth and final round, promising further global reach and the completion of the 2026 calendar in due course. Tom Burwell, CEO of World Supercross, emphasised the significance of this announcement as a step towards the biggest season yet, highlighting the growth of established markets like Canada, Argentina, South Africa, and Australia. He also noted the importance of returning to the UK in response to fan demand. Antonio Alia Portela, FIM Motocross Commission Director, praised the championship’s global ambition and the high standard of racing, expressing anticipation for the full calendar announcement.
