World-class riders, young talent, and amateurs together in one day in Heerde

On Thursday 14 May, the MSV-NOV circuit in Heerde will host a unique motocross event titled “MX Juniors – Meeting the Stars,” bringing together world-class riders, emerging young talent, amateurs, and female competitors all on the same day. This distinctive format offers a rare opportunity for less experienced riders to compete alongside some of the sport’s biggest names, creating a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere. The event is designed as a trial with ambitions to become an annual fixture on Ascension Day, with plans to expand the concept to other major Dutch motocross competitions. Several top riders have already confirmed their participation, including renowned figures such as Jeffrey Herlings, Kay de Wolf, Glenn Coldenhof, and Romain Febvre. The event promises thrilling competition, notably a continuation of the intense rivalry between Herlings and de Wolf that was recently witnessed during the Dutch Masters. Fans will also have the chance to meet these stars during a dedicated autograph and photo session, adding a personal dimension to the day’s excitement. A notable innovation at the event is the introduction of a new financial incentive for Dutch National Championship (NK) riders in the 250cc and 500cc classes. Each NK rider who registers will receive a 50-euro start fee per race, with a substantial prize fund allocated exclusively for these competitors. The prize money ranges from 500 euros for first place to 50 euros for those finishing between fifth and fifteenth, underscoring the organisers’ commitment to supporting domestic talent alongside international stars. The event’s inclusive approach extends to allowing young riders without a start licence to participate, ensuring a broad spectrum of experience levels are represented. This blend of development, competition, and elite performance aims to foster growth within the sport while delivering an engaging spectacle for spectators.
