Top Ten Finishes for Katona and Zanocz in Heerde

Van Venrooy KTM Racing kicked off their Dutch Masters of Motocross campaign on Easter Monday at Heerde, with riders Aron Katona and Noel Zanocz both securing top ten finishes in one of the motos. The event attracted a competitive field, prompting organisers to split practice sessions into two groups. Katona impressed early by setting the third-fastest time in his group, while Zanocz posted the eighth-fastest time in the second group, signalling strong potential for race day. The opening moto proved challenging for both riders as they were caught up in a crash at the start, forcing them to battle back through the pack. Katona managed to recover to seventeenth place, demonstrating resilience despite the setback. Zanocz, however, was unable to continue after the incident and had to retire early, returning to the paddock to regroup ahead of the second race. In the second moto, both riders showed determination and skill, with Zanocz getting off to a strong start and running just outside the top five for much of the race. Katona steadily advanced from around fifteenth position, overtaking several competitors to finish a commendable sixth. Zanocz maintained a consistent pace and crossed the line in eighth place, contributing to a solid overall performance for the team. By the end of the day’s competition, Katona secured ninth place overall, while Zanocz finished thirteenth. These results provide a positive foundation for Van Venrooy KTM Racing as they prepare for their next challenge at the Grand Prix of Sardinia the following weekend. The team will be looking to build on this promising start and continue their strong form in the international motocross scene.
