Summary By: eMotoX
The FIM World Supercross Championship has unveiled the first five venues for its 2026 season, signalling the start of what promises to be the most expansive and internationally diverse calendar in the series’ history. The season will kick off in Calgary, Canada, on 8 August at McMahon Stadium, marking a new location for World Supercross but continuing the championship’s strong presence in North America. Following this, the series will return to the United Kingdom for the first time since 2023, with the European round set to take place at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on 10 October, tapping into the UK’s rich motorsport culture.
The championship will then head to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 24 October, revisiting a city that delivered a standout debut last year and boasts one of the sport’s most passionate fanbases. Australia’s Gold Coast will host the next round on 21 November at Cbus Super Stadium, reaffirming the event’s importance in a country known for its vibrant dirt bike scene and thrilling racing moments. The season will also return to South Africa, with a round at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium following a successful inaugural event last season, highlighting the championship’s commitment to expanding supercross across Africa.
Tom Burwell, CEO of World Supercross, emphasised the significance of these locations, noting the growth of established markets like Canada, Argentina, South Africa, and Australia, alongside the much-anticipated return to the UK. He hinted at further excitement to come, with a sixth round yet to be announced, which will complete the full 2026 calendar. Meanwhile, Antonio Alia Portela, FIM Motocross Commission Director, praised the championship’s global ambition and the balance of established and emerging markets reflected in the schedule so far.
As the 2026 season approaches, teams and riders are expected to be revealed in the coming months, building anticipation ahead of the opening round. Fans keen to secure tickets can access presale opportunities via the official World Supercross website, as the championship continues to solidify its position as a premier global motorsport series.
