Lucas Coenen wins MXGP qualifying race

Lucas Coenen secured a commanding victory in the MXGP qualifying race, taking the lead from the very first corner and maintaining it throughout. The Belgian rider demonstrated strong pace and control, fending off challenges from championship leader Tom Vialle, who remained close but was unable to overtake. Andrea Adamo delighted the home crowd by finishing third, followed by Kay de Wolf and Tim Gajser in fourth and fifth respectively. The race saw some dramatic moments, notably involving Jeffrey Herlings, who crashed early on and had to restart from outside the top fifteen. Despite this setback, Herlings managed to recover to ninth place and impressively recorded the fastest lap on the penultimate circuit, signalling his competitive form. Roan van de Moosdijk and Calvin Vlaanderen also made efforts to climb through the field, finishing fifteenth and sixteenth respectively after challenging rides. Other riders faced difficulties, with Rick Elzinga ending the race in 27th position and Jago Geerts retiring on the opening lap.
