Regarding his involvement in the Motocross des Nations, Cairoli emphasised that team selection is based on current form and the best available riders rather than age or reputation. He recalled his unexpected participation last year, which was driven purely by merit and team needs, despite some external speculation. Although an injury hampered his performance, he demonstrated strong competitiveness, underscoring the importance of experience in such a prestigious event.
Cairoli also discussed the recent changes within Ducati’s GP team management, noting the transition from Italian leadership under Maddii to Dutch management with Louis Vosters. He pointed out that while organisational styles differ, the factory maintains open communication and collaboration with the team leadership to optimise results. On technical matters, he explained that while the American squad runs a Factory Connection setup, GP riders currently use Showa suspension, though future decisions on equipment may evolve depending on what best suits the riders and racing conditions. Overall, Cairoli’s ongoing involvement signals Ducati’s commitment to growth and competitiveness in motocross at the highest levels.
