Gyan Doensen showed good speed at Landrake, but poor starts held him back

Gyan Doensen demonstrated promising speed during the British Championship event at Landrake, showcasing his potential despite some setbacks. Riding for the Gabriel SS24 KTM Factory Juniors Team, he faced considerable traffic in the timed practice sessions, which hampered his ability to set consistently fast laps. Nevertheless, Doensen managed to secure the third-fastest time, indicating his comfort and competitiveness on the track. The main challenge for Doensen during the races was his poor starts, which forced him to battle through the pack from the back. In the opening race, he struggled with arm pump in the early stages but gradually found his rhythm, producing strong lap times that helped him recover to a fifth-place finish. The second moto began similarly with a slow start, and after a red flag halted the race, Doensen again battled arm pump, ultimately finishing ninth. Despite the difficulties, Doensen maintained a positive outlook on his performance and future prospects. He acknowledged the tough weekend but expressed determination to continue working hard. Looking ahead, he is eager to compete in his second MX2 World Championship race, signalling his commitment to improving and building on the experience gained at Landrake.
