Ergon GDH MTB Grips – Ergon’s Gravity Grips Now Available in Three Sizes and New Colours
Summary By: eMotoX
Ergon has expanded its popular GDH MTB grip range to include three different sizes—Slim, standard, and Fat—offering riders greater choice to match their hand size and riding preferences. Designed primarily for gravity riders who prioritise grip, control, and comfort on demanding downhill terrain, the GDH grips have been developed in collaboration with top athletes such as Vali Höll, Troy Brosnan, and Luca Shaw. Priced uniformly at €39.95, these grips now come in up to seven colour options, allowing riders to personalise their setup without compromising on performance.
The original 32 mm GDH grip has long been praised for its excellent grip and damping qualities, combining textured surfaces and materials that provide secure finger hold and palm cushioning. The single inner clamp design prevents rubbing and ensures the grip stays firmly in place. The new Slim variant, at 30 mm diameter, offers a more direct connection to the handlebars and is particularly suited to riders with smaller or medium-sized hands who seek enhanced trail feedback and confidence. While damping is slightly reduced compared to the standard model, pairing the Slim grip with lightly padded gloves delivers impressive comfort and control.
At the other end of the spectrum, the 34 mm Fat grip caters to riders with larger hands or those who prefer a chunkier grip for added comfort. Testers noted that the Fat grip provides excellent support and damping, especially when riding without gloves, reducing the need for a tight hold and helping to alleviate arm fatigue. Although the thicker profile slightly mutes trail feedback, it remains a secure and comfortable option for many riders. However, the Fat grip may feel too bulky for those with smaller hands.
This size diversification reflects Ergon’s commitment to ergonomic precision and rider comfort, ensuring that gravity riders of all hand sizes can benefit from the brand’s signature grip security and damping technology. The introduction of multiple sizes and a wider colour palette also enhances the appeal of the GDH grips for riders seeking both performance and personalisation. With these updates, Ergon continues to strengthen its position as a leading innovator in cycling ergonomics, particularly in the demanding gravity segment.
