Zoe Bäckstedt has committed her immediate future to Canyon-SRAM-Zondacrypto by extending her contract with the team until the end of the 2028 season. The Welsh rider, who joined the German outfit at the close of 2023 after turning professional with EF Education-Tibco-SVB earlier that year, had initially signed a deal through 2026. This renewal adds two more years to her tenure, signalling mutual confidence in her development and potential within the squad. Bäckstedt, currently 21, has already established herself as one of the most promising talents in women’s cycling. She holds the under-23 world titles in both time trial and cyclo-cross disciplines and has enjoyed a breakthrough spring campaign in 2026, highlighted by a time trial victory at the Vuelta a Extremadura and strong showings in prestigious Classics such as Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Tour of Flanders. Her 12th place finish at Paris-Roubaix Femmes further underscores her growing prowess in the cobbled races that suit her aggressive riding style.
