Restrap has expanded its popular Switch Rack Cargo System with the introduction of a Direct Mount version, addressing a key limitation of the original design. Previously, the Switch Rack required a thru-axle mounting system, which restricted compatibility with many bike frames. The new Direct Mount variant allows the rack to be attached to traditional rack and mudguard eyelets, significantly broadening its usability across a wider range of bicycles. Rather than redesigning the entire rack, Restrap has developed an adaptor kit that modifies the existing chassis for direct mounting. This approach enables riders to easily transfer their Switch Rack between bikes with different axle setups, including those with 135mm, 142mm, and 148mm axle spacing. The adaptors are designed to fit all bikes featuring horizontal or in-line M5 rack or mudguard mounts, and the kit includes two bolt lengths to accommodate varying dropout thicknesses. The Direct Mount Switch Rack is priced at £107.99 and is available now through Restrap’s website. For current Switch Rack owners, the company offers the Direct Mount Adaptors separately for £15.99, allowing them to convert their existing racks without purchasing a new one.
