German company Mess Werk, known for their work on Pro2Max power meters, has unveiled a new power meter pedal design that promises versatility and innovation. The pedals feature dual-sided power measurement and an easily swappable body system, allowing users to switch between road and mountain bike pedal bodies. With an impressive 120-hour battery life, these pedals aim to meet the demands of serious cyclists seeking reliable and long-lasting performance. The mountain bike pedal body draws design cues from Garmin’s offerings but leans slightly towards Shimano’s style, presenting a compact platform with a high-gloss finish. Meanwhile, the road pedal body is slimmer, resembling SRM’s design, and maintains compatibility with Shimano cleats. Rumours suggest that Mess Werk may expand their range with additional pedal body styles beyond the initial Shimano-inspired options, potentially broadening their appeal across different cycling disciplines.
