Russell Finsterwald's Waffle-winning Look G85 Cezal gravel bike can now be yours

Look has unveiled the G85 Cezal, a carbon gravel bike designed to bridge the gap between racing performance and long-distance adventure riding. Named after the rugged Cézallier region in France, the bike aims to be a versatile all-rounder capable of handling everything from smooth country roads to technical singletrack trails. The French manufacturer emphasises the G85 Cezal’s adaptability, positioning it as suitable for racers, bikepackers, and recreational riders alike. The G85 Cezal’s credentials have already been proven in competition, with American rider Russell Finsterwald taking victory on the bike at the prestigious Belgian Waffle Race. Finsterwald praised the bike’s balance of lively handling and enhanced stability, attributing this to its slacker 70° head tube angle and generous tyre clearance that accommodates up to 57mm tyres at the front. This combination allows the bike to meet the evolving demands of gravel racing while maintaining comfort and control on rough terrain. Look’s design philosophy centres on flexibility, with geometry and component choices tailored to a variety of riding styles. The bike features a shorter wheelbase and chainstays for agility, alongside a 74° seat tube angle to optimise pedalling efficiency. Riders can customise the cockpit setup for either a more aggressive race position or a relaxed posture suited to endurance rides. The frame supports both 1x and 2x wireless groupsets, mechanical transmissions, and suspension forks with up to 60mm of travel, further enhancing its adaptability. The G85 Cezal is available in three complete builds, including SRAM Force AXS XPLR and Shimano GRX Di2 options, with prices ranging from £3,499 for the 1x mechanical setup to £6,190 for the top-tier Force AXS model. For those who prefer to build their own, the frameset is offered separately at £2,300. With its combination of race-ready features and adventure-ready versatility, the G85 Cezal represents Look’s commitment to creating a gravel bike that truly caters to a broad spectrum of riders and terrains.
