Otso Launches New Versatile Fenrir Steel, Same as the Ti Version But $1,500 Less

Summary By: eMotoX
Otso Cycles has introduced the Fenrir Steel, a new version of its highly adaptable Fenrir bikepacking bike, offering the same design and geometry as the titanium Fenrir Ti but at a significantly lower price. The Fenrir Steel responds to customer requests for a more affordable steel frame option and retains the versatility that has made the Fenrir a standout model since the launch of the stainless steel version in 2021. This new iteration is built from 4130 chromoly steel with custom tube sets tailored to five frame sizes, ensuring a precise fit for a wide range of riders. The Fenrir Steel’s design emphasises adaptability, with the ability to switch between flat or drop handlebars and accommodate either rigid or suspension forks with 100-120mm travel. Its extensive mounting options include multiple bottle mounts, three-pack mounts on the fork, and rear rack compatibility, making it ideal for loaded bikepacking adventures. The bike’s geometry, including a 68º head tube angle and 75º seat tube angle, supports stable handling under load, while an adjustable dropout chip allows riders to fine-tune the bike’s handling characteristics. Priced at $1,950 for the frame and $3,200 for a base build, the Fenrir Steel undercuts the stainless steel and titanium versions, which retail at $2,550 and $3,450 respectively. Otso is currently offering discounts on the stainless steel Fenrir, but has indicated no plans to restock it this year, suggesting the Fenrir Steel may become the primary steel-framed option moving forward. The new model includes a carbon Lithic Mountain Fork with three-pack mounts and the same adjustable dropout feature as the frame. Customers can personalise their Fenrir Steel with a choice of two colour schemes—Pumpkin Orange with beige accents or Indigo Blue with white details—and select from various wheel sizes and component options. Each bike is built to order at Otso’s Minnesota facility, allowing riders to tailor the bike to their specific needs. This launch reinforces Otso’s commitment to producing versatile, adventure-ready bikes that cater to a broad spectrum of riders and riding styles.
