New Full Suspension Kid’s Bikes from Prevelo & Kona Will Help Kids Go Full Send

Prevelo and Kona are set to expand their children’s bike ranges with new full suspension models designed to cater to young riders eager to tackle more challenging terrain. Prevelo’s Foxtrot series, currently in prototype form, offers three versions with wheel sizes ranging from 20 to 26 inches, each featuring progressively increased suspension travel. The frames are built from hydroformed aluminium with a Horst Link suspension system, Boost spacing, and internal cable routing, including dropper post compatibility, making them highly functional and durable for small riders. The Foxtrot bikes are equipped with components tailored specifically for children’s weight and riding style, such as Manitou JUNIT forks and RST Mono trunion rear shocks, both custom-tuned for young riders. The drivetrains use MicroShift Advent 1x9 or 1x10 speed setups, paired with Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless-ready wheels, ensuring performance and reliability. Prevelo intends to release the Foxtrot series later this year, potentially making them available in time for the holiday season. Meanwhile, Kona’s upcoming Process 246 targets slightly older kids, featuring a unique mini-mullet wheel configuration with a 26-inch front wheel and a 24-inch rear wheel. The frame is designed to adapt as the child grows, allowing for a switch to a 26/26 setup in the future. While pricing and availability details remain unconfirmed, the Process 246 promises versatility and longevity for young riders progressing in their skills. Both Prevelo and Kona are addressing a growing demand for high-quality, full suspension bikes that can handle the rigours of off-road riding for children. These new models reflect a trend towards offering smaller riders equipment that mirrors adult mountain bikes in terms of technology and capability, encouraging confidence and skill development from an early age.
