Megamo Doubles Down on Avinox-Powered Drop Bar Bikes With the Along E-Gravel Bike
Summary By: eMotoX
Megamo has expanded its e-bike lineup with the introduction of the Along, a new e-gravel bike powered by the Avinox M2 and M2S drive systems. Following the recent launch of the Avinox-equipped Upon e-road bike, the Along is designed to bring the same high-performance electric assist to mixed-terrain and gravel riding. Built around a purpose-designed carbon frame, the Along aims to deliver versatility and endurance for riders seeking adventure across diverse surfaces without compromising on comfort or capability.
The Along’s carbon frame features a gravel-specific geometry, prioritising stability and rider comfort over long distances. Key design elements include a slightly slacker head tube angle for confident handling on descents, a longer chainstay for improved traction, and clearance for wide 50c tyres as standard. The frame also accommodates a rigid carbon fork, which can be swapped for a 40mm suspension fork without affecting the bike’s geometry, making it adaptable to different terrain and rider preferences. Integration of the Avinox drive units and a 600Wh battery is seamless, with internal cable routing and modern features such as dual water bottle mounts and a 12 x 142mm rear axle.
Avinox’s M2 and M2S motors represent a significant leap in e-bike power and performance, with torque figures reaching up to 150Nm and peak power outputs of 1500W on the M2S variant. Megamo offers five build levels of the Along, with the higher-end models equipped with the more powerful M2S motor and fast 12A chargers, while the entry-level versions come with the M2 motor and standard charging. The motors have been finely tuned for gravel riding, providing smooth and progressive assistance tailored to rolling terrain and technical sections. Riders can control and customise the assistance modes via a handlebar-mounted remote and an integrated display, with further adjustments available through the Avinox app.
The Along is available in four frame sizes and two colour options, Pop Green and Sand, catering to a range of rider preferences. Pricing spans from €3,999 for the base model to €7,999 for the top-tier Along 01, which features premium components such as a DT Swiss suspension fork, SRAM Force XPLR AXS groupset, and carbon wheels. By combining cutting-edge electric drive technology with a dedicated gravel platform, Megamo positions the Along as a compelling choice for riders looking to explore mixed terrain with power, efficiency, and comfort. This launch underscores Megamo’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of e-bike performance across different cycling disciplines.
