'It’s a new chapter for us' – Netcompany Ineos show off their new green-grey and orange colours in Bulgaria before Giro d'Italia
Summary By: eMotoX
Netcompany Ineos unveiled their new light green and grey team colours during training in Bulgaria as they prepared for the Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza. The British outfit will be led by Egan Bernal and Thymen Arensman, both targeting general classification (GC) success, while Filippo Ganna aims to excel in the individual time trial and other stage opportunities. The squad also includes Jack Haig, Magnus Sheffield, Embret Svestad-Bårdseng, Connor Swift, and Ben Turner, rounding out a versatile team ready to tackle the varied terrain of the Corsa Rosa.
The team’s fresh look marks a new chapter following a significant sponsorship deal with Danish software firm Netcompany, reportedly worth €100 million over five years. Although Netcompany’s corporate colour is petrol green, the team opted for a lighter green and grey jersey to avoid clashing with the Tour de France’s dark green sprint classification jersey. Complementing the new kit, riders sported white shorts and orange helmets, presenting a distinctive appearance as they trained under sunny skies on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
Geraint Thomas, Netcompany Ineos’s racing director and former Giro podium finisher, expressed confidence in the team’s leadership and depth. He highlighted the strength of Bernal and Arensman as co-leaders, noting their previous Giro experience and recent form, with Bernal a former winner and Arensman coming off strong performances in the Tour de France and Tour of the Alps. Thomas emphasised the unpredictable nature of the Giro, citing weather and challenging terrain as factors that demand adaptability and aggressive racing from the team.
Both Bernal and Arensman downplayed any internal rivalry, focusing instead on mutual support and consistency throughout the race. Bernal spoke of his motivation and calm preparation, while Arensman stressed the importance of seizing opportunities and maintaining focus. Meanwhile, Ganna, the team’s sole Italian rider, is targeting the stage 10 time trial along the Tuscan coast and a stage finish near his family home, aiming to contribute to the team’s overall ambitions while pursuing his own chances for victory.
As Netcompany Ineos embarks on this new era, their balanced squad and clear objectives position them as strong contenders in the 2026 Giro d’Italia. With leadership shared between two promising GC riders and a specialist time trialist in Ganna, the team looks set to challenge for stage wins and overall honours amid the race’s notoriously demanding conditions. The coming weeks will reveal how effectively they can translate their preparation and potential into results on the road.
