Summary By: eMotoX
As the northern hemisphere edges towards summer, cycling enthusiasts are being treated to a fresh wave of high-performance gear designed to enhance speed, comfort, and style. Leading the pack is DMT’s special edition KRO EVO Superlight shoe, created to celebrate Team Unibet’s debut in the Giro d’Italia. The Verona-based brand has crafted a unique white and pink colourway featuring a stylised rocket motif that reflects the team’s identity and the iconic Giro colours. While the shoes are already in the hands of the riders, the team will continue using their usual models during the race, with plans to showcase the new design later in the season.
The KRO EVO Superlight is engineered for sprinters and riders who prioritise aerodynamics and lightness, weighing just 215 grams in size 42. Its Aeroflex Knit upper, adaptive TPU instep band, and dual BOA® Li2 dials ensure a personalised and secure fit, while the carbon outsole maximises power transfer. DMT’s Global Sponsorship Manager Mattia Viel emphasised the model’s distinct identity and performance pedigree, highlighting its appeal alongside other flagship products. The special edition shoes are available for pre-order at €429, with delivery expected in just over a month.
In a parallel collaboration, Melbourne-based MAAP and UK footwear innovator QUOC have unveiled the M3 Pro ‘Leopard’, a limited edition shoe that blends natural speed with cutting-edge cycling technology. This striking leopard print version builds on the M3 Pro’s reputation for stiffness and comfort, featuring a unidirectional carbon fibre outsole and a vibration-dampening insole designed to relieve pressure points. The shoe’s tongue-less wraparound design and dual-dial micro-adjustment system allow riders to fine-tune their fit while maintaining excellent ventilation through laser-cut perforations.
Priced at £340, the MAAP x QUOC M3 Pro ‘Leopard’ is available in limited quantities through both brands’ online stores and select retailers worldwide. This release underscores the ongoing trend of merging technical excellence with bold, progressive design in cycling footwear. Alongside these shoe launches, Mavic has introduced the Comete 50 wheelset, a versatile aerodynamic option aimed at riders seeking a balance of speed and all-around performance, further rounding out the summer-ready kit offerings for cyclists gearing up for the season ahead.
