FAST Suspension DC3 Compression Damping Upgrade Comes to Lyrik & Pike

Fast Suspension has expanded its DC3 compression damping upgrade to include Rockshox’s Lyrik and Pike forks, following its earlier release for the ZEB models. The DC3 insert is designed to enhance the compression damping performance of these popular 35mm stanchion forks, which cover travel ranges from 120mm to 170mm. While Rockshox has introduced improvements to the air spring and damping systems in recent models, Fast Suspension believes there is still room for refinement, particularly in the compression damping department, and the DC3 aims to address this by adding a third compression damping circuit. The key innovation of the DC3 system lies in its three-stage compression damping approach, which introduces a mid-speed compression circuit alongside the traditional high- and low-speed damping controls. Low-speed compression manages the bike’s stability during routine riding and braking, preventing excessive fork dive. Mid-speed compression is tailored to handle more dynamic forces encountered during aggressive cornering or technical terrain, effectively allowing the suspension to maintain momentum rather than bogging down. High-speed compression focuses on controlling harsh impacts such as big drops or hitting sharp obstacles, ensuring the fork’s travel is preserved for critical moments. Each DC3 insert is custom tuned to the rider’s weight, style, and preferences, offering a personalised damping setup. Riders also receive fork oil and a valving kit to fine-tune the high- and mid-speed compression if desired, though the system is designed to be user-friendly, with an external low-speed compression knob providing 35 distinct adjustment clicks. Installation is straightforward, requiring no special tools or adapters, as the insert replaces the stock compression damping circuit and includes its own internal floating piston for a sealed upgrade. The DC3 upgrade is compatible with a range of Rockshox forks, including the ZEB Select A1 and A2, ZEB R A1, Pike Select B3-B4 (2020-2022), Pike Select C1 (2023 and newer), and Lyrik Select C2-C3 (2020-2022) and D1 (2023 and newer). Priced at €279 including VAT, the upgrade offers riders a compelling option to enhance the performance and responsiveness of their suspension forks, particularly for those seeking finer control and improved handling in demanding off-road conditions.
