Drift, a new entrant in the mountain biking footwear market, has launched its debut product, the ARC waterproof clip-in shoe. Designed to combine durability, comfort, and performance, the ARC shoe is crafted from full-grain premium leather and features a waterproof lining suitable for all weather conditions. The shoe targets riders who seek a versatile option that performs well on the bike with clip-in pedal compatibility, while also providing comfort off the bike. The ARC shoe incorporates several technical features tailored for mountain biking. It has SPD/2-bolt cleat compatibility and a composite shank to ensure efficient power transfer during pedalling. Despite its clip-in design, the sole maintains a sleek profile with a rubber outsole engineered to support a natural walking gait, making it practical for post-ride wear. Additional elements include a reinforced toe box for trail protection and a snap-down lace cover to keep laces secure during rides. Shane Rattazzi, Drift’s co-founder and CEO, emphasised the careful design and testing process behind the ARC, describing it as the culmination of the company’s expertise and partnerships. The brand’s preference for real leather over synthetic materials stems from its durability and ability to mould comfortably to the rider’s foot over time. This approach reflects Drift’s commitment to producing a high-quality, long-lasting product that meets the needs of serious mountain bikers. The ARC shoe is available in five neutral colourways and offers a unisex fit, catering to a broad range of riders with sizes from US 5 to 12. Priced at $240, the shoe is sold exclusively through Drift’s website.
