Conti launches 50mm Dubnital – mountain bike rubber that might be your next gravel tyre upgrade

Continental has expanded its Dubnital mountain bike tyre range with the introduction of a 50mm version, targeting the growing gravel racing market. The original Dubnital, praised for its combination of speed and grip, has already gained a following among riders who could fit the wider 55mm model into their gravel setups. The new 50mm size aims to broaden accessibility by fitting a wider variety of modern gravel bikes, offering riders a high-performance option that balances control, durability, and speed. Professional rider Rosa Klöser, winner of the Unbound 200, has expressed strong enthusiasm for the 50mm Dubnital, highlighting its confidence-inspiring grip and braking control, particularly in cornering. She describes the tyre as a versatile choice that provides comfort and durability without compromising speed, making it suitable not only for elite racers but also for gravel enthusiasts seeking reliable performance on mixed terrain. This endorsement underscores the tyre’s appeal across different skill levels and riding styles. The 50mm Dubnital retains the signature tread design, featuring a fast-rolling central section flanked by aggressive shoulder knobs to enhance traction and stability on both dry and damp surfaces. It is tubeless-ready and compatible with hookless rims, and comes in two casing variants: the Race version prioritises speed, while the Trail version focuses on durability. This flexibility allows riders to tailor the tyre to their specific needs, whether for racing or more rugged trail use.
