Campy Record Expands Italian Wireless 13sp Gruppo Platform at 37% Lower Price than SR!

Campagnolo has expanded its wireless 13-speed groupset platform with the introduction of the new Record 13, offering a more affordable alternative to the Super Record series. The 2026 Record 13 groupset includes five configurations tailored for road, all-road, and gravel use, delivering much of the high-end performance and aesthetics of Super Record but at a price point approximately 37% lower. This translates to savings of between €1,200 and €1,600, albeit with a modest weight increase of a few hundred grams compared to the premium Super Record models. The new Record 13 retains many of the key features that define Campagnolo’s top-tier wireless groupsets, including fast electronic shifting, rechargeable batteries with USB-C charging, and the signature Italian craftsmanship. The derailleurs incorporate a mix of carbon-reinforced polyamide and alloy components, with a stamped steel inner cage to balance strength and weight. The platform supports a range of cassette sizes from 10-33T to 10-48T, with durable sealed bearings and a refined Black Chrome and Satin Black finish designed to enhance wear resistance. Importantly, Record 13 remains fully compatible with existing Super Record and Ultra 13 cassettes. The Record 13 Ergopower controls mirror the functionality of the Super Record units, featuring the classic thumb button, adjustable reach, and a Smart Button for customisation, alongside a hydraulic brake system offering consistent power and modulation. Differences between the two groupsets largely come down to material choices, with Record 13 using less titanium and more steel or aluminium, resulting in a slightly heavier but more cost-effective build. This approach maintains performance while making the groupset accessible to a broader range of riders. Pricing for the new Record 13 groupset starts at €2,700 for a traditional 2x13 road setup, significantly undercutting Super Record, which weighs around 300g less. Gravel-specific 1x13 configurations are available from €2,130, also representing substantial savings. Additionally, Campagnolo has introduced a Record-level power meter option priced at €600 above the base groupset, offering a nearly 50% reduction compared to the Super Record power meter. This expansion solidifies Campagnolo’s position in the high-end wireless groupset market by delivering premium features at a more accessible price point.
