Bontrager Adds Wider, Tougher & More Affordable Road Tires
Summary By: eMotoX
Bontrager has expanded its road tyre range with the introduction of two new “all road” models alongside more affordable variants of its Aeolus race tyres. The new Kwaremont and Hard-Case Max Pro tyres are designed to offer greater durability and volume for riders seeking reliable performance across varied conditions, including rougher roads and wet weather. These additions aim to meet the needs of cyclists who require robust, versatile tyres without compromising on speed or handling.
The Kwaremont tyre is positioned as a modern, wide, do-it-all option suitable for fast road riding and light gravel surfaces. It features a smooth, fast-rolling centre tread complemented by a herringbone pattern on the shoulders to enhance cornering grip. Available in 32, 35, and 38mm widths, the Kwaremont comes in three levels—RSL, Pro, and Comp—with prices ranging from £24 to £80 approximately. The lightest variant, the RSL 700x32mm, weighs a claimed 345 grams.
Replacing the previous All-Weather range, the Hard-Case Max Pro offers a highly durable, tubeless-ready solution aimed at commuters and riders prioritising puncture protection and longevity. Its bead-to-bead puncture protection, reinforced sidewalls, and dense 60 TPI casing combine to provide exceptional resistance to flats and wear. The tyre’s tread design includes large sipes for effective water dispersion, enhancing grip in wet conditions. Available in widths from 26 to 35mm, the Hard-Case Max Pro is priced around £52.
Bontrager has also broadened the Aeolus road tyre lineup with new Pro and Elite models, making race-level performance more accessible. The Elite range offers narrower widths from 23 to 28mm, while the Pro variants come in slightly wider sizes up to 32mm. These additions maintain the Aeolus reputation for speed and confidence on the road but at more competitive price points starting from approximately £30 for the Elite and £52 for the Pro. The top-tier RSL model remains at £80.
These updates reflect Bontrager’s commitment to catering to a diverse spectrum of road cyclists, from competitive racers to everyday commuters. By expanding options with wider, tougher, and more affordable tyres, the brand is addressing the growing demand for versatile, reliable rubber that performs well across multiple riding environments. Riders can expect improved durability and protection without sacrificing the ride quality synonymous with Bontrager’s products.
