Avinox Avalanche Roundup: Nine New eMTBS Launching w/ New Avinox M2S Drive Unit
Summary By: eMotoX
Avinox has launched its highly anticipated M2S drive unit, marking a significant advancement in the eMTB motor market. Building on the success of its original M1 system, the M2S offers a substantial power boost with 1300 watts peak output and 130 Nm of torque, along with short bursts reaching 1500 watts and 150 Nm in Boost mode. The new motor maintains a compact and lightweight design, weighing just 2.65 kg, and is paired with a new 700Wh battery option alongside existing 600Wh and 800Wh packs. The system is controlled via a wireless remote and an OLED touchscreen display, featuring five customizable riding modes accessible through the Avinox Ride App.
The introduction of the M2S has sparked a wave of new eMTB models from various manufacturers, with at least nine new bikes confirmed and over a dozen more brands planning to adopt the system. Among the notable launches is Pivot’s Shuttle AMP’d, an all-mountain eMTB that integrates the M2S motor into a carbon frame with dw-link suspension and aggressive geometry designed to handle the increased power. Available in multiple build options, the Shuttle AMP’d features high-end components such as Fox Factory suspension, SRAM AXS drivetrains, and DT Swiss wheels, positioning it as a versatile and capable machine for demanding riders.
YT Industries has also embraced the Avinox M2S with its new Decoy X e-enduro bike, signalling a resurgence for the brand following recent financial challenges. The Decoy X sports a robust aluminium frame, 160-170mm of travel, and mixed wheel sizes, designed for aggressive trail riding. YT describes the bike as having a long, slack geometry that delivers a thrilling ride experience, and the Launch Edition is now available for pre-order in UK and European markets, with plans to expand the range later in the year.
Atherton Bikes has entered the fray with its S.170E, a distinctive eMTB featuring a lugged aluminium frame and a 700Wh battery integrated into a round downtube. The model was teased earlier in the year and quickly sold out during its preorder phase, reflecting strong demand for Avinox-powered machines. The S.170E adds to the growing diversity of eMTBs equipped with the M2S drive unit, highlighting the broad industry enthusiasm for Avinox’s latest technology.
The arrival of the M2S drive system signals a new chapter in electric mountain biking, with its combination of power, compactness, and advanced user interface attracting a wide range of manufacturers. As more brands unveil their Avinox-powered models, riders can expect a surge in high-performance eMTBs that push the boundaries of what electric trail bikes can achieve. The continued expansion of the Avinox ecosystem, including batteries and control systems, suggests a competitive future for the eMTB market driven by innovation and collaboration.
