Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia shines on the Latvian sand

Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia delivered a commendable performance at the eighth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship held at the challenging Kegums circuit in Latvia. The event, which also featured the EMX250 European Championship, tested the riders’ skill and resilience on a demanding and technical sandy track. The weekend proved to be a mixed bag for the team, combining strong results with significant physical challenges. In the fiercely competitive MX2 class, French rider Maxime Grau stood out by securing a top 10 finish despite the difficulties posed by the Latvian terrain, which traditionally does not suit his riding style. Grau’s approach was marked by smart race management and consistent riding, enabling him to extract the maximum possible outcome for the team. His tenth place overall was a testament to his determination and adaptability under tough conditions. Niccolò Alvisi’s weekend in the EMX250 European Championship was marked by adversity as he battled a severe flu that hampered his performance throughout. Despite his compromised physical state, the young Italian rider demonstrated remarkable grit and perseverance, managing to finish in tenth place. This result was especially valuable for his championship campaign, highlighting his commitment to the team and the sport even in difficult circumstances. Team Manager Marco Maddii expressed satisfaction with the overall outcome, praising Grau’s strong showing on a challenging track and recognising Alvisi’s courage in competing while unwell. While pleased with the points secured, Maddii acknowledged the disappointment of Alvisi’s illness but commended his determination to fight through the weekend’s hardships. The team now looks ahead, buoyed by these performances, as they continue to pursue their goals in the championship.
