Veolo 2.0 Rolls Out Lighter, Faster, More Versatile Adventure-Ready Bike Trailer

Veolo has launched the 2.0 version of its innovative bike trailer, designed to enhance the experience of carrying extra gear by bike without compromising performance. Building on its predecessor’s success, the new trailer is significantly lighter, narrower, and more stable, weighing just 6.7kg compared to the original’s 8.5kg. Its refined design lowers the load’s centre of gravity and reduces frontal area, improving handling and aerodynamics, especially over uneven terrain and during cornering. The Veolo 2.0 features a redesigned load basket made from reinforced fabric with carbon-composite stiffeners, replacing the original aluminium platform. This change not only cuts weight but also allows the trailer to collapse flat for easier storage. The trailer now uses more robust 2-inch Kenda Small Block Eight tyres, which provide a smoother ride on rougher surfaces and can run at lower pressures. Additionally, the hitch system has been overhauled with a lightweight, quick-release ball connector that includes an integrated lock, offering convenience and security while saving over 100g compared to standard options. Veolo has also introduced a versatile magnetic Add-On system, enabling users to customise the trailer for various activities such as dog transport, touring, cargo hauling, or water sports. Optional accessories include a dog enclosure tested safe for animals up to 45kg, a large removable touring bag, a lockable cargo box, and specialised load bars and drawbars for carrying boats or boards. These modular options enhance the trailer’s adaptability, making it suitable for a wide range of outdoor and everyday uses. Manufactured by hand in Leipzig, Germany, the Veolo 2.0 maintains a maximum load capacity of 60kg and is compatible with bikes featuring 20 to 29-inch rear wheels and modern thru-axles. Its independent elastomer suspension system offers adjustable stiffness for improved comfort and control. The inclusion of a dual-mode integrated kickstand and a driveside deflector further improves usability and safety when loading or unloading gear. With these improvements, Veolo’s latest trailer aims to appeal to cyclists who want to keep their bikes light and agile while still having the option to carry substantial loads when needed. The 2.0 model’s combination of lightweight construction, stability, and modularity positions it as a compelling choice for bikepackers, commuters, and adventure cyclists alike, potentially reshaping how riders approach cargo transport by bike.
