Janis Reisulis Secures Career-Best Fourth Overall at MXGP of Germany

Janis Reisulis achieved a career-best overall finish of fourth place at the MXGP of Germany, the seventh round of the MX2 World Championship season. Demonstrating strong and consistent form, Reisulis narrowly missed out on a podium spot by just one point, securing fourth and fifth positions in the two races. His performance was particularly impressive given the challenging, rain-affected conditions at the Teutschenthal circuit, where he managed to maintain composure and speed throughout both races. Reisulis set the tone early by placing second in the MX2 Qualifying Race, signalling his readiness for a strong Grand Prix result. In the first race, he quickly gained fourth place and engaged in a close contest with Camden McLellan, ultimately finishing just behind him. The second race saw Reisulis start well again, moving into fifth and holding off competitors to secure another solid finish. His consistency across the weekend has helped him maintain seventh place in the overall MX2 standings, reflecting his growing confidence as a rookie in the class. Janis’ older brother and teammate, Karlis Reisulis, also showed promising speed but was hampered by minor crashes in both races. Despite these setbacks, Karlis managed to finish tenth overall, a result that keeps him ninth in the MX2 World Championship rankings. While Karlis described the weekend as tough, he acknowledged positives in his riding and expressed determination to improve in upcoming rounds. Looking ahead, the Reisulis brothers will compete on home soil at the MXGP of Latvia, the eighth round of the season, held at the sandy Kegums circuit near Riga. Both riders will be aiming to build on their recent performances and continue their upward trajectories in the championship. Janis, in particular, is keen to carry forward the consistency he showed in Germany as he targets his first podium finish in the MX2 class.
