ERNEE IS GETTING READY FOR THE 2026 MXON

Ernée is gearing up to host the 79th edition of the Motocross of Nations (MXON) from 2 to 4 October 2026, marking the fourth time the Raymond Demy circuit will welcome this prestigious event. Following the record-breaking success of the 2023 MXON, the local club has been working intensively to ensure the upcoming competition runs smoothly. The event will conclude the 2026 motocross season, with teams arriving fresh from the MXGP World Championship final in Australia, and national selections expected to be announced in early September. The club president, Philippe Lecomte, highlighted the preparations underway, drawing on lessons learned from previous editions to improve the spectator experience. New viewing platforms have been constructed to alleviate crowding issues experienced in 2023, while a refined traffic management plan, successfully trialled during the recent Grand Prix, aims to prevent the city gridlock that marred the last event. Lecomte also praised the strong collaboration with institutional partners and the dedication of over 1,200 volunteers, which he described as a key factor in maintaining a “fantastic dynamic” as the event approaches. In addition to motocross, Ernée recently hosted the seventh edition of its popular Six Hours Mountain Bike Race, which attracted 184 teams and demonstrated the club’s commitment to diversifying its sporting calendar. Lecomte noted the event’s success and the favourable weather conditions, emphasising the club’s ability to manage multiple large-scale competitions throughout the year. Despite enjoying the MXGP races at Lacapelle Marival last weekend, he acknowledged that the intense demands of organising the MXON will leave little time for rest or leisure when the event begins.
