Fantic Factory Racing finishes MXGP of France with a top ten result

Fantic Factory Racing faced a challenging weekend at the MXGP of France in Lacapelle-Marival, contending with high temperatures and a difficult track that tested both riders and machines. Despite these obstacles during the sixth round of the World Championship, the team managed to secure a top ten overall finish. After a five-week hiatus, riders Alberto Forato and Brent Van Doninck struggled initially, placing fourteenth and nineteenth respectively in Saturday’s qualifying races, but improvements in bike setup helped them perform better on race day. Alberto Forato showed significant progress, finishing eighth in the warm-up session and recovering from a crash on the opening lap of the first race to claim fifteenth place. His performance in the second race was more consistent, as he avoided early chaos and secured eighth place, resulting in a strong top ten finish overall. Van Doninck, meanwhile, faced adversity after a major crash at the restart of the second race, which forced him to come from last place to seventeenth by the finish, matching his overall weekend position. Both riders reflected positively on their weekend despite the setbacks. Forato emphasised the importance of the adjustments made between Saturday and Sunday, expressing satisfaction with his recovery and readiness for the upcoming German Grand Prix. Van Doninck noted improvements in his physical condition and bike setup, acknowledging the challenging nature of the track and the numerous crashes witnessed, while sending well wishes to fellow rider Thibault Benistant, who was involved in a serious incident. Looking ahead, Fantic Factory Racing remains focused on building momentum as the championship progresses. Both riders are optimistic about their prospects for the next round in Teutschenthal, aiming to capitalise on the lessons learned and continue improving their performance.
