Sage Titanium has unveiled a first look at its latest innovation, the Project FAF, a full-suspension titanium mountain bike designed and manufactured in the USA. Revealed quietly at the Sea Otter Classic, this 120mm travel downcountry bike combines traditional titanium tubing with advanced 3D-printed titanium components, signalling a fresh direction for the brand. The Project FAF stands out as a rare offering in the mountain bike market, blending modern suspension technology with the durability and unique appeal of titanium construction. The development of Project FAF has been a meticulous three-year process, reflecting founder David Rosen’s personal vision for a versatile and raceable full-suspension bike. Unlike Sage’s previous hardtail models, this bike aims to strike a balance between the aggressive Optimator and the more playful Timberline, offering riders a machine that is both efficient uphill and confident on technical descents. The suspension system employs a single-pivot flex-stay design with a linkage-driven shock, designed to deliver a progressive feel that is firm at the extremes but plush through the mid-stroke, enhancing control and comfort on varied terrain.
