Q36.5 is developing a new Adventure Racing Hydration Skinsuit designed specifically for long-distance gravel racing, featuring an innovative integrated hydration system. Unlike conventional hydration packs, this system incorporates a 2-litre reservoir that fits into a lightweight mesh sleeve on the upper back, ensuring close body contact to prevent bouncing and discomfort over rough terrain. The design allows for quick swapping or refilling during races, although assistance from a pit crew or support rider is recommended. The skinsuit builds on Q36.5’s established Dottore Pro platform, combining aerodynamic woven leg panels with a multi-fabric upper that optimises airflow and temperature regulation. This approach aims to strike a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and comfort, differentiating it from the brand’s full-aero road skinsuits. The hydration system has already been tested in demanding events such as the Cape Epic and the recent Traka gravel race, demonstrating its practical benefits in real-world racing conditions. Q36.5 plans to finalise the skinsuit’s development with a view to launching the product in early 2027.
