Three Midwest manufacturers form Dielectric Manufacturing Group, targeting EV busbar and components market
Summary By: eMotoX
Three Midwest manufacturers—Dielectric Manufacturing, EMS Industrial, and Centerline Machine—have merged to form the Dielectric Manufacturing Group, a consolidated supplier targeting the electric vehicle (EV) busbar and components market. This new entity aims to provide a comprehensive range of precision plastic and metal parts, machining, fabrication, and custom busbar solutions tailored specifically for EV original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The group positions itself as the industry’s most extensive single-source provider of these specialised capabilities, streamlining the supply chain for EV customers.
Each company brings a distinct set of strengths to the partnership. Dielectric Manufacturing boasts over six decades of experience in custom metal and plastic component machining and fabrication. EMS Industrial, a family-run business with a similar heritage, has specialised in high-current electrical distribution since 2000, focusing on copper, aluminium, and bespoke busbar systems for sectors including automotive and power generation. Centerline Machine contributes precision machining expertise for mission-critical industrial applications, enhancing the group’s overall technical capabilities.
The Dielectric Manufacturing Group offers a full spectrum of services, from initial design support through to production, accommodating both small and large volume orders. Their integrated approach includes in-house quality control, assembly, kitting, and inventory management, providing a seamless experience for clients. Mike Esser, the group’s President and CEO, emphasised the combined engineering experience and strong track record for on-time delivery as key advantages that the new formation brings to the EV market.
This strategic consolidation reflects the growing demand for specialised components in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle sector, particularly in the area of busbar systems, which are critical for efficient electrical distribution within EVs. By uniting their resources and expertise, the Dielectric Manufacturing Group is well-positioned to support OEMs as they scale production and innovate in electric mobility. The move signals a broader trend of collaboration and integration among suppliers aiming to meet the complex needs of the evolving EV industry.
