Lexus Unveils TZ, an All-New Three-Row BEV

Lexus has introduced the TZ, its first all-electric three-row SUV, designed around the innovative “Driving Lounge” concept. This new model aims to combine exceptional driving performance with a spacious, lounge-like interior that promotes relaxation for all passengers. The TZ emphasises Lexus’ hallmark qualities of quietness, ride comfort, and a sense of unity between driver and vehicle, while supporting diverse lifestyles with its versatile design and advanced electric drivetrain. The vehicle’s design balances muscular SUV styling with aerodynamic efficiency, achieving top-tier performance in its segment. Lexus has integrated sustainable materials throughout the TZ, including decorative elements made from Shikoku bamboo and recycled aluminium, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility. The interior benefits from a newly developed platform and a wide panoramic roof, creating an open and soothing atmosphere enhanced by advanced sound control and ambient lighting, all aimed at enriching the time spent inside the vehicle. Lexus has framed the TZ within its broader brand message “DISCOVER – Imitate No One -,” assigning the theme “DISCOVER LIMITLESS” to this model to highlight its potential to free owners from routine and inspire new experiences. Chief Engineer Takeshi Miyaura explained that the development focused on delivering a refined mobile space that blends driving enjoyment with comfort, positioning the BEV platform as the ideal means to achieve this balance. The vehicle’s dynamic performance is supported by Lexus’ Aji-migaki philosophy, which emphasises a composed driving character and enhanced structural refinement. Key features include a “Rear Comfort” mode that prioritises passenger wellbeing through a combination of hardware and software technologies, and an Interactive Manual Drive system designed to deepen the connection between driver and car. The TZ’s sculptural design incorporates Lexus’ signature spindle body and geometric graphics, marrying functional beauty with aerodynamic excellence. This approach aims to create a commanding presence on the road while contributing to the vehicle’s impressive range and efficiency. Looking ahead, the TZ signals Lexus’ commitment to evolving its luxury SUV lineup through electrification and sustainable innovation.
