Denza Starts Distribution of Luxury EVs in the Philippines
Summary By: eMotoX
Denza Philippines has officially launched the distribution of its luxury plug-in hybrid SUVs, the B5 and B8, marking the brand’s entry into the premium new energy vehicle market in the country. The rollout follows Denza’s debut at the Manila International Auto Show 2026 and is part of the Adventure Electrified campaign, which aims to cater to the growing demand for high-end electric SUVs that are capable of off-road performance. This initiative aligns with the Philippines’ expanding infrastructure for electrified mobility, signalling a strategic move to capture a niche segment of eco-conscious yet adventurous consumers.
The B5 is a midsize SUV built on the DMO Super Hybrid platform, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a dual motor system to deliver 425 kW of power and 760 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 31.8 kWh BYD Blade battery and an 83-litre fuel tank, offering an impressive NEDC-rated range of 975 kilometres. Meanwhile, the B8 serves as the flagship full-size SUV, available in Dynamic and Premium trims, featuring a 2.0-litre engine and dual motors that produce 450 kW and 760 Nm of torque. The B8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and boasts a total range of 1,040 kilometres courtesy of its 36.9 kWh battery and 91.5-litre fuel tank.
Both models are engineered for rugged terrain, featuring four-wheel drive systems with electronically controlled locking differentials at the front and rear. The B8 includes advanced suspension technology, the DiSus P Intelligent Damping Suspension, which adjusts damping forces at each wheel to enhance control over uneven surfaces. Additionally, the vehicles come with specialised software like the Leopard Turn function to reduce turning radius in tight spaces, alongside multiple drive modes tailored for mud, sand, rock, and water wading conditions, underscoring their off-road capabilities.
Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD and Denza Philippines, highlighted that the launch targets consumers who desire the efficiency and environmental benefits of new energy vehicles without sacrificing the utility and performance of traditional SUVs. Pricing for the B5 is set at PHP 3,498,000 (£50,000 approx), while the B8 Dynamic and Premium trims are priced at PHP 4,698,000 (£67,000 approx) and PHP 5,098,000 (£72,500 approx) respectively. To showcase the vehicles’ capabilities, Denza is hosting a Customer Test Drive Event featuring challenging terrain such as steep inclines and water obstacles, coinciding with the ceremonial handover of the first 30 units.
The rollout is further supported by the Denza App, which enables owners to monitor charging status and vehicle information remotely via mobile devices. This comprehensive approach positions Denza as a serious contender in the Philippine luxury EV market, combining cutting-edge technology with practical features designed for both urban and off-road
