German manufacturer Tune has introduced the Nano Gravel 45, a new carbon gravel wheelset designed to combine lightweight performance with versatility. Weighing just 1335 grams for the pair, these wheels stand out in the mid-depth 45mm aero gravel category for their exceptional lightness. Their 30mm internal rim width and hooked profile support a broad range of tyre sizes, from 38mm up to 2.5 inches, making them suitable for both tube and tubeless setups. The Nano Gravel 45 wheels feature a 45mm rim depth paired with a 36mm outer width, offering a balance between aerodynamic benefits and stiffness. While officially optimised for tyres between 47 and 57mm according to ETRTO standards, Tune’s own testing suggests the wheels perform well with tyres ranging from 38mm to 66mm. The brand highlights that the wheels are fastest with 40 to 45mm gravel race tyres, making them ideal for riders seeking speed without sacrificing the ability to run wider, more stable tyres for rougher terrain. At the heart of the wheelset are Tune’s CNC-machined Nano CL hubs, available in black, silver, or red, which feature high engagement rates of 69 points of engagement and are compatible with various freehub standards including Shimano HG, MicroSpline, SRAM XDR, and Campagnolo N3W. The wheels are laced with 24 Sapim CX-Ray aero bladed spokes and come pre-taped for tubeless use, complete with alloy tubeless valves. Enduro bearings are offered in either steel or ceramic options, and the entire wheelset is backed by a comprehensive 10-year warranty. Positioned as a “Swiss Army Knife” for gravel riders, the Nano Gravel 45 aims to serve both competitive racers and adventure cyclists with its adaptable design and robust build. Pricing starts at €2290 for the steel bearing version, rising to €2920 for ceramic bearings, with custom builds available within two weeks.
