Teravail Rolls Out New 32″ Tires & Rims at Sea Otter Classic

Teravail has introduced a range of new 32-inch tyres and rims at the Sea Otter Classic, targeting both mountain biking and fast gravel riding segments. The launch includes two distinct 32-inch tyres—the Camrock and the Cannonball—alongside a new carbon Circos Wide 32 rim. These products are designed to cater to the growing demand for larger wheel sizes in adventure and gravel cycling, offering enhanced performance and durability. Both tyres feature Teravail’s innovative Superstructure casing, which incorporates finer, denser N66 nylon fibres. This advanced casing improves strength-to-weight ratio, elasticity, and bonding to the rubber, resulting in greater resistance to punctures and sidewall damage. Additionally, the tyres utilise a new Fast Plus compound, a high-rebound 60-durometer rubber formulated to reduce rolling resistance, promising quicker acceleration and sustained speed over long distances. The Camrock 32, priced at $95, is available in a 32 x 2.4 size with options for black or tan sidewalls. It features a low-profile, linear tread pattern with shallower knobs designed to balance speed and terrain adaptability, making it suitable for cross-country or adventure gravel bikes. Meanwhile, the Cannonball 32, also retailing at $95 and offered in 32 x 2.2, retains the tread design of its popular 700c counterpart but benefits from a lighter, more compliant 120 TPI Superstructure casing, enhancing ride quality for fast gravel enthusiasts. Complementing the tyres is the new Circos Carbon 32 rim, engineered in-house by Teravail with tailored profiles and carbon reinforcements to support the larger 32-inch diameter wheels. The rim features a 29mm internal width at the front and 28mm at the rear, with the rear rim designed narrower to improve impact strength through a wider bead wall. Weighing 400g and 420g respectively, these rims aim to deliver a balance of strength, weight savings, and performance for riders adopting the 32-inch wheel size.
