Alberto Forato strong sixth in MXGP Sardinia

The Fantic Factory Racing MXGP Team delivered a commendable performance at the MXGP of Sardinia held in Riola Sardo, a notoriously challenging sand circuit. Both riders, Alberto Forato and Brent Van doninck, consistently scored points throughout the event, showcasing the competitiveness of their Fantic XXF 450 machines. Forato impressed during qualifying by securing eighth place, with Van doninck close behind in tenth, setting a positive tone for the weekend. Alberto Forato maintained his strong form into the race day despite a heavy crash during the warm-up session that affected his left hand. He managed to stay within the top eight in the first moto and improved in the second, briefly running as high as fifth before finishing seventh. This resilience earned him a solid sixth place overall, marking a significant step forward for the Italian rider on the demanding sand track. Brent Van doninck’s weekend was more challenging due to a twisted ankle sustained prior to the event. Despite a promising qualifying race, he crashed at the start of the first moto and had to recover from the back of the pack to finish 19th. In the second moto, Van doninck started well but lost ground early on before mounting a strong comeback to finish 12th, placing him 16th overall for the weekend. Both riders reflected positively on their performances, with Forato highlighting the physical difficulties he overcame and expressing optimism for upcoming races. Van doninck acknowledged the setbacks but remained hopeful about his recovery and future prospects, particularly with a break ahead to regain full fitness.
