Following a successful double podium finish in Switzerland, MXGP riders Maxime Renaux and Tim Gajser arrive in Sardinia with renewed confidence and momentum. Both riders have spent significant time training on the deep sand of Riola during the pre-season, honing their physical conditioning and bike setups. Recent testing in Belgium has further boosted their readiness, with both feeling physically sharp and determined to convert their preparation into strong results this weekend. In the MX2 category, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team arrives fresh from a productive training period and a recent victory by Karlis Reisulis at an Easter Monday race in the Netherlands. The Latvian brothers, Karlis and rookie Janis, bring complementary skills to the sand track, with Janis aiming to build on his limited past experience at Riola and demonstrate his potential. Karlis, with more race experience, is focused on maintaining rhythm and consistency to secure valuable points. Adding to the MX2 lineup is Lotte van Drunen, the reigning Women’s Motocross World Champion, who is using wildcard entries to sharpen her race craft ahead of her title defence later this month. The event in Sardinia will also feature the third rounds of the EMX250 and EMX125 Championships, where Yamaha riders Mano Faure and Sleny Goyer are both positioned fourth in their respective standings.
