First Rides: Amflow PX eMTB Adds Powerful Avinox M2S Motor to Capable Carbon Frame

Amflow has unveiled the second-generation PX Carbon eMTB, now equipped with the formidable Avinox M2S motor, delivering up to 1500W of power and 150Nm of torque. This marks a significant upgrade over the brand’s debut model, which featured the earlier Avinox M1 motor. The new PX Carbon is part of Amflow’s expanded P-series range, which also includes the PR model, offering riders a choice between the high-powered M2S motor and a more affordable M2 motor variant. Both motors represent a leap forward in electric mountain bike performance, with the M2S particularly standing out for its exceptional power output. Beneath its familiar exterior, the PX Carbon Pro has undergone substantial refinement. The 2.4kg carbon frame has been strengthened and stiffened to enhance handling and steering precision, while the geometry has been subtly slackened to improve trail confidence. Adjustable flip-chips allow riders to customise ride height, head angle, and rear wheel size, including a shorter chainstay option for mullet setups. The bike features 150mm of rear suspension travel paired with 160mm at the front, alongside high-quality components such as Schwalbe Gravity Radial tyres and Magura Gustav 4-piston brakes. A new 700Wh battery strikes a balance between capacity and weight, housed in a slimmer downtube and supporting rapid charging that replenishes up to 75% capacity in an hour. On the trail, the Amflow PX Carbon Pro delivers a versatile and engaging ride, blending the agility of a lightweight trail bike with the power to tackle demanding terrain. Weighing just under 22kg, it offers a neutral and stable ride with enduro-inspired geometry and plush suspension, making it suitable for technical all-mountain riding rather than full-on gravity or e-enduro disciplines. The upgraded frame stiffness improves responsiveness, though riders seeking a more robust gravity bike might look elsewhere. The standout feature remains the Avinox M2S motor, which provides a smooth yet explosive surge of power, particularly in Boost mode, although the difference between Turbo and Boost is less pronounced due to the refined power delivery. Battery life is adequate for most trail rides, with the 700Wh pack offering around 40km of range and nearly 1,000m of climbing for an average-weight rider, while lighter riders can expect significantly more distance and elevation. The availability of a fast charger mitigates range concerns by enabling a quick turnaround for multiple rides. Additionally, Amflow plans to introduce a PR model with swappable batteries, further extending ride time and convenience. The 2026 Amflow lineup promises a compelling combination of cutting-edge motor technology, refined frame design, and practical battery solutions, positioning the brand as a strong contender in the high-performance eMTB market.
