Purolator orders 100 electric step vans from Workhorse

Workhorse Group has secured a significant order for 100 battery-electric step vans from Purolator, a leading Canadian freight and logistics company. This purchase will effectively double the number of Workhorse electric step vans in Purolator’s fleet, building on previous acquisitions made through Motiv, which merged with Workhorse in late 2025. The delivery of these vehicles is scheduled throughout 2026, reinforcing Purolator’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle capabilities. Workhorse has established itself as a key player in the North American medium-duty electric truck market, with its vehicles deployed by ten of the largest fleets in the region, including Vestis and Cintas. The company has already delivered over 1,100 electric vehicles, ranging from step vans to box trucks and shuttles. Its manufacturing plant in Union City, Indiana, boasts the capacity to produce at least 5,000 vehicles annually on a single shift, supported by a national dealer network and a team of regionally based technicians for after-sales service. Scott Griffith, CEO of Workhorse, highlighted the importance of the ongoing relationship with Purolator, noting the logistics provider’s dedication to adopting innovative technologies for a more efficient and sustainable fleet. This latest order marks Purolator’s fourth with Workhorse over several years, underscoring a strong and enduring partnership between the two companies.
